Birzman Diversity 17 in the test

Test Minitools: Birzman's tools and tools have been proving their quality and functionality for years in the best lists on Velomotion. With the Birzman Diversity 17 we tested another product from the Taiwanese manufacturer. Equipped with 17 functions, the multitool promises extensive repair options. A special feature here is certainly the integrated CO2 adapter for threaded cartridges. Our test shows how the mini tool performs in everyday life.

Birzman Diversity 17 Minitool: Structure and processing

The Birzman Diversity 17 mini tool offers almost everything you need for repairs during a tour in a manageable space. Allen keys from 2 to 8 millimeters are also part of the immediate aid range, as are a T25 Torx key and a chain riveter. There are also a slotted and Phillips screwdriver as well as two spoke wrenches. The tools made from chrome vanadium steel are held in a high polymer housing. And this offers even more features. In addition to two tire levers, there is also a chain hook and a CO2 adapter compatible with threaded cartridges. The workmanship of the individual tools is good and the tire levers sit snugly in the housing - but unfortunately this cannot be said for all tools.

handling

In contrast to many other multitools, the Birzman Diversity 17 is noticeably voluminous. The tool is simply too large, especially for smaller hands. But you also get a product that contains almost all the tools - including a CO2 adapter. Please note that the adapter is designed for threaded cartridges. What we don't like is that the tools are quite loose. The frame can be screwed together more closely, but a separate Allen key is required for this. And if we're honest: at least when it ships, there shouldn't be any game. The 8 mm hexagon socket is located as an adapter on the extended 5 mm hexagon socket and - if not locked correctly - slides back and forth on it. The tire levers also have to put up with criticism. The levers are simply too short for tightly fitting tires and their angular design also undermines a comfortable grip.

The Birzman Diversity 17 mini tool offers almost everything you need for quick roadside repairs in a manageable space. The multitool particularly scores points with the CO2 adapter for threaded cartridges. However, we don't like the feel, the inherently loose fit of the tools and the angular, small tire levers.
