The new YT Tues MK4: A new era of versatility

2 May 2024 by Florian Nowak

Product news: For 14 years, the Tues platform from YT Bikes has been synonymous with the highest podium in freeride and downhill. With the TUES MK4, YT Industries ushers in a new era of versatility, adaptability and racing performance while continuing the legacy of its predecessors.

The new YT Tues fits seamlessly into the existing YT sizing structure, with five size options compatible with either a 29" or MX wheel setup. The reach dimensions vary in 20 mm increments from size S (430 mm) to XXL (510 mm). The 200mm rear wheel travel suspension is controlled by the proven V4L suspension linkage, which generates speed while ensuring the progression required for heavy hits.+

To increase versatility, the TUES MK4 features the FLIP LINK. By flipping the connection, riders can seamlessly switch between a 29-inch and a 27,5-inch rear wheel without the need for additional accessories. The head tube angle is configurable between 63,2° and 63,5° depending on the position of the lower shock mount flip chip, which also allows for 5mm bottom bracket height adjustment. Chainstay lengths are size specific and offer an adjustable long/short setting for maximum versatility.

The frame features a 148 x 12mm rear triangle, complete with a SRAM universal derailleur hanger for worldwide access to parts. A replaceable shock absorber hardware insert prevents stripped threads and allows for a seamless season without premature end. The bottom bracket converts from a press fit to a threaded interface, and the frame is compatible with a range of reach adjustment headsets.

The flagship model is the CORE 4: a race-ready rig inspired by the YT MOB's component selection. A premium Ultra Modulus carbon fiber frame, FOX Factory 40 fork and DHX2 coil shock provide comprehensive pro-level tuning options. TRP DH-R EVO brakes and SRAM X01 DH group ensure maximum control and clear power transmission. Industry Nine 1/1 hubs are mated to Crankbrothers Synthesis DH alloy rims, complemented by Maxxis Assegai DH tires in a Maxx Grip compound. A Renthal cockpit, ODI grips and SDG I-FLY 2.0 saddle ensure comfort and control.

The CORE 2 is available at a more affordable price and retains the same ultra-modulus carbon construction as the CORE 4. A RockShox Boxxer Base fork and Super Deluxe Select coil shock allow for quick setup. SRAM GX DH groupset and DB8 brakes provide reliable performance. A Race Face Chester handlebar and stem combo, ODI grips and SDG I-FLY 2.0 saddle ensure comfort, while SunRingle Duroc SD37 wheels with Maxx Grip DH Assegai tires round out the spec.

YT Tues MK4

The YT Tues MK4 mountain bike marks a significant step forward in the evolution of downhill and freeride riding. With its versatility, adaptability and race-ready performance, it's ready to push the boundaries of what's possible and take riders to the next level.
