Product news: With the Druid E, Forbidden Bike Co. presents a completely redesigned e-MTB platform. Two model variants, one unified concept: proportionally dimensioned frames, a powerful drivetrain, and suspension kinematics optimized for e-mountain bikes.
The Canadian brand Forbidden presents its first e-MTB, the Druid E – available in two versions: the Druid LitE and the Druid CorE. Both models are based on the newly developed Trifecta V3 platform and feature the Avinox Drive System, a high-torque, high-energy drivetrain with comprehensive connectivity.
Model variants: Druid LitE and Druid CorE
The Druid E is available in two versions, which differ in suspension travel, battery capacity and geometry:
- Druid CorE (left): 150 mm rear travel, 160 mm front travel; 800 Wh battery; 0,6° slacker head angle; total weight 22,6 kg (49,8 lbs); also available in three build kits.
- Druid LitE (right): 140 mm rear travel, 150 mm front travel; 600 Wh battery; total weight 20,8 kg (45,9 lbs); available in three configurations.
Drive: Avinox Drive System
Both models are equipped with the Avinox drive system The system delivers 105 Nm torque permanently (up to 120 Nm in boost mode) and reaches a Peak power of up to 1.000 wattsThe motor and battery unit weighs 2,52 kg. Batteries are available in two sizes: 600 Wh (2,87 kg) and 800 Wh (3,74 kg). The manufacturer highlights the fast charging function: 0–75% charge in 90 minutes.
It is operated via a 2 inch OLED touchscreen display with intuitive user guidance. The display, assistance modes, and many other parameters can be adjusted via the app. Wireless handlebar controls and connectivity with mobile devices are also part of the system.
Frame platform and geometry
The Trifecta V3 platform is based on a high-pivot four-bar linkage with a vertically mounted shock. According to the manufacturer, this arrangement allows for efficient drivetrain integration and more clearance for long dropper posts (up to 180 mm for frame size S1).
The geometry follows the concept of OneRide Proportional Sizing – an approach in which the chainstay length and seat angle are adjusted depending on the frame size. The goal is a centered seating position and consistent handling regardless of body size. The geometry is downhill-oriented: a high front end, slack head angles, short cranks, and a mullet wheel setup (larger front wheel, smaller rear wheel) ensure control and maneuverability, according to the manufacturer.
