Versatile gravel bike for everyday use and adventure: Bull's Daily Grinder 4

June 16, 2025 by Caspar Gebel

Test Bulls Daily Grinder 4: The new version of the Cologne-based brand's everyday gravel bike impresses with groundbreaking assembly standards and high-quality components. The Grinder's unmistakable racing DNA further enhances its appeal.

Cycling is becoming increasingly popular, but most cyclists are on the road for everyday use and on tours. Whether the Lycra-wearing crowd racks up more miles than commuters or touring cyclists doesn't matter – everyone is interested in modern, functional bikes. Therefore, it's only logical that practical utility is also a top priority for contemporary bikes.

Bulls Daily Grinder 4: Tours with luggage and fast everyday rides

A prime example of this is the gravel bike. It's suitable for a wide range of uses – from professional racing to multi-day tours – with long distances always being the focus. Of course, racing cyclists sit differently on their bikes than touring cyclists. But with a well-thought-out frame geometry, the same bike can be tailored to specific needs by adjusting the stem length and angle. The Bulls Daily Grinder 4 proves this.

The frame of the Bulls Grinder is based on that of the flagship Machete model, a carbon gravel bike used in world-class professional racing. The only difference on the aluminum model, simply called the Grinder, is the longer chainstays. These allow for the installation of mudguards with 45 mm wide tires – a feature also found on the Daily Grinder 4, the everyday version.

New frame with UDH mount

The Grinder has been in the range for several years, but there are exciting new features for 2025. The new aluminum frame features the modern UDH mounting standard, ensuring compatibility with future direct-mount rear derailleurs – a real step forward.

Luggage racks can be attached to the fork.
A tensioning strap can be attached under the top tube.
The gravel-typical “Bento Box” sits on the top tube.

A defining feature of the Grinder is its wide range of mounting options. A luggage rack can be attached to the carbon fork, and there's space under the down tube for straps or a large frame bag. There are two threaded holes on the top tube for a small "Bento Box." The Daily Grinder is also equipped with a rear carrier, side stand, and lighting system. The headlight is very well thought out: It features a twist-proof mount secured with two screws; the cable from the hub dynamo is routed inside the fork.

The lighting system is powered by the high-quality XT dynamo.
The bright spotlight is attached to the fork with a twist-proof holder.

High-quality GRX equipment

The Bulls Daily Grinder 4 is equipped with high-quality Shimano GRX gravel components. With an 11-42 tooth sprocket and a 40-tooth chainring, it offers a wide gear range; the lack of a front derailleur makes shifting easier and faster. Thanks to the hydraulic brakes, even beginners quickly feel confident on the bike. The flat, wide drop handlebar allows for different grip positions and an upright riding position, increasing comfort. The short stem makes the bike agile and maneuverable. Gravel pros like Alban Lakata of Team Bulls, on the other hand, rely on longer, flatter stems for a stretched-out position and greater stability.

Everyday rides and fast tours are the specialty of the Bulls Daily Grinder 4.

For tours on varying terrain, Bulls mounts the Schwalbe G-One in the all-round version with a 45 mm width. The fine knobbly profile provides good grip on asphalt and loose soil – perfect for a wide range of uses, such as those offered by the Daily Grinder.

The Cologne-based manufacturer's versatile everyday gravel bike is priced at just €1.999. This makes the Bulls Daily Grinder 4 only €100 more expensive than the sporty version without the optional extras, making it an attractive option. This model is a good choice for anyone looking for a modern, fast, and reliable bike for everyday use and fast tours.
