With an impressive solo has become Joao almeida (UAE – XRG) secured the stage victory on the fourth stage of the Tour de Suisse, covering 193,2 kilometers from Heiden to Piuro. The Portuguese rider attacked at the Splügen Pass with 49 kilometers to go and left all his rivals behind. This puts him well up in the overall standings, but despite his significant time deficit on the first day, he's still not quite within striking distance of the yellow jersey.

Romain Gregoire remains in the yellow jersey

The overall leader Romain Gregoire (Groupama – FDJ) was dropped on the climb, but was able to reconnect with the chasing group on the descent. Tomorrow, there will be further gaps on the way to Santa Maria in Calanca. Although the final climb is only 4,5 kilometers long, with an average gradient of 9,8 percent, it still presents a real challenge.
