All Tour de France team helmets: The aero helmet from Ineos Grenadiers – Kask Nirvana

June 18, 2025 by Caspar Gebel

Kask Nirvana: Large aero helmet in beautiful colors

With the Nirvana, Kask offers an aero helmet that appears large on the Velomotion dummy head, but is actually quite compact. At 297 grams in size L, it's also comparatively light considering its largely closed shell and its teardrop shape. Four vents in the front and a wide rear air outlet divided into three sections by reinforcing ribs ensure good ventilation.

With a synthetic leather chin strap and merino lining, the Nirvana offers unusual materials.
The rear of the Kask testifies to the aero ambitions of this helmet.

The Nirvana's interior features unusual materials: The padding is covered with a layer of merino wool—a material that's kind to the skin and antibacterial. Kask's proprietary "Multipod" anti-rotational protection is an inner shell bonded to the helmet body with a 3D-printed material. An unusual choice of material is synthetic leather for the chin strap. It's not easy to push through the closure and is quite stiff compared to typical fabric materials. However, it doesn't compromise comfort unless you overtighten the chin strap.

The Nirvana has a rather wide cut and is quite large. While its sister model Element While the helmet is also available in size S for a head circumference of 50 cm and above, this one starts at 52 cm. Size M covers 52-58 cm, while size L covers 59-62 cm, so it's only a fairly small range. Trying on this helmet at a retailer might be especially beneficial.

At the front lower edge, air can flow into the channels inside.
The multipod layer can absorb shear forces during rotational movements.

Kask offers the well-made Nirvana in five color variations – in addition to black and white, three successful, unusual designs. Compatible with the Nirvana is the Merino wool helmet liner with ear protection, which Kask offers for 50 euros. The helmet itself is comparatively expensive at 360 euros, but at least it's "Made in Italy."
