Sweet Protection Tucker 2Vi: Heavy aero helmet with improved ventilation
At 434 grams (size L/XL), the Sweet Protection Tucker 2Vi is a real heavyweight, but that certainly doesn't stop the Uno-X-Mobility riders from wearing it in competitions. Unlike its predecessor, which was almost completely closed, the new model from the Norwegian manufacturer features a rectangular vent next to the slit on the forehead. There's also an air vent at the top of the carbon plate, which tapers towards the back of the helmet. Air can also flow into the channels that run along the head at the bottom of the front edge.
Extended tail with Kammtail shape
The Tucker is rather long and features a truncated teardrop shape at the back ("Kammtail"). It has a narrow cut and is available in only two sizes – the S/M size of its sister model, the Falconer, is missing. The height adjustment range is noticeable; the twist lock, with its weak ribbing, is difficult to operate.
Inside, the MIPS shell provides additional safety, while a technology called "2Vi" is designed to improve comfort. There are no special features in the straps or closure; in terms of workmanship, the sharp edges of the carbon plate are noticeable, where individual fibers and adhesive residues are visible. Unlike the numerous beautiful colors of the Sweet Protection Falconer The Aero helmet is only available in white and black; the red and yellow team version is not available in stores. The Tucker is also priced at €299, making it rather expensive.
