All Tour de France team helmets: The helmet from Visma – Lease-a-bike – Giro Aries Spherical

Giro Aries Spherical: Optimal ventilation and proven adjustment system

Giro winner Simon Yates rides a Giro helmet – the Giro Aries Spherical. It's immediately apparent that the US manufacturer's top-of-the-line model is designed for optimal ventilation: Wide vents run lengthwise across the helmet; the ribs between them are held together by integrated reinforcing bridges made of transparent plastic. On the inside, with its discreet padding, wide grooves ensure that the helmet doesn't sit flat against the head. Together, these features ensure optimal ventilation, making the Aries the helmet of choice for hot weather.

Exclusive Mips system

The fact that the helmet, at 268 grams in the medium size, no longer comes close to the minimal weight of previous Giro models like the Aeon is due to the high level of safety provided by the "Mips Spherical" liner. This is a rotating layer made of the same EPS foam as the helmet body, which can be optimally integrated into it. The system acts like two helmets nested inside each other and is only available on Giro and Bell helmets; the two parts of the EPS body are connected by narrow straps.

The inner shell incorporated into the helmet body acts like a second helmet.
The Roc Loc adjustment system is tried and tested.
With “Mips Spherical,” Giro offers a proprietary protection system.

Typical of Giro is the "Roc Loc" adjustment system, which ensures the helmet sits firmly yet comfortably on the head. The adjustment dial is small but easy to use; the strap tensioners under the ears allow you to adjust the length of the individual straps. The Aries's look is timelessly classic, which means the helmet should suit not only the current Giro winner, but also older riders with less modern racing bikes, who can purchase the helmet in three sizes and various understated color options.
