Criterium du Dauphiné #7: Pogacar demonstrates his dominance

June 14, 2025 by Michael Behringer

UAE Team Emirates Team Presentation 2025

Cycling: Tadej Pogacar has won the seventh stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné. The Slovenian world champion thus further extends his lead in the overall standings.

Pogacar remains in a class of his own

As already yesterday, Tadej pogacar (UAE – XRG) demonstrated today that he is the best climber in the world. After 131,6 kilometers from Grand-Algueblanche to Valmeinier 1800, he distanced the Dane jonas vingegaard (Visma | Lease a Bike) by 14 seconds to second place. The German once again performed strongly Florian Lipowitz (RB – Bora – hansgrohe), who climbed to third place. A bitter blow must Remco Evenepoel (Soudal – Quick-Step). The Belgian Olympic champion lost 2:39 minutes – not a good sign so close to the Tour de France. Tomorrow, the Critérium du Dauphiné concludes with the eighth stage on the Plateau du Mont-Cenis.
