Spectrum: The Sagly app has been helping mountain bikers optimize their suspension and perfectly adjust their bikes for different trails for years. With Sagly Training, the app is now expanding its offerings with a new riding technique database. In six consecutive steps, mountain bikers can specifically improve their skills using video, text, and audio.
Sagly is the brainchild of two mountain bike enthusiasts, Anton Hörl and Mario Kemetinger. They have been active in the scene since 2013 and founded the Lahnvalley Crew, which became known for its creative mountain bike videos. This passion gave rise to the idea for Sagly in 2021: an app that not only helps riders optimally tune their bikes, but now also aims to take their riding technique to the next level.
The Sagly training is divided into six consecutive steps, ranging from basics like cornering technique and safe braking to challenging descents and tricks like whips and no-handers. Knowledge is transferred vividly through slow-motion videos, precise text descriptions, and optionally via audio output – ideal during a gondola ride in the bike park or on the way to the spot.
Sagly Training: step-by-step progress – up to professional rating
The six training steps are logically structured: from the basics on flat terrain (Step 1) to challenging techniques (Step 4) and pro tips with a summary (Step 5). Step 6 is particularly innovative: here, users can monitor their progress via video upload and AI-supported analysis. The software evaluates technique and execution, provides targeted feedback, and awards medals from bronze to gold – motivation and learning monitoring included.
After each workout, users can provide direct feedback. The development team uses this feedback to continuously optimize existing content and regularly release new training modules. This keeps Sagly Training dynamic and growing with the demands of the mountain biking community. The new Sagly Training feature is now available in the current Sagly app (iOS: App Store or Android: Google Play).
