State-of-the-art technologies and XTR-inspired finish: Shimano S-PHYRE XC903S High-End XC Shoe Special Edition

June 6, 2025 by Andrew Waldera

Product news: Inspired by the new XTR, Shimano has created a special edition shoe model for its premium component group. The S-PHYRE XC903S features the performance characteristics of Shimano's standard XC903, but offers an exclusive metallic silver color scheme and metal BOA Li2D dials.

The S-PHYRE XC903S special edition is certainly not lacking in technical highlights. The advanced BOA Li2D dials, equipped with precise micro-adjustment, ensure a secure fit in all riding situations. The lower dial is also protected against accidental release due to impacts. Shimano doesn't do things by halves when it comes to the sole either. The stiff ULTREAD XC sole, developed specifically for XC, gives the rider control in changing conditions.

For maximum power transfer and efficient pedaling, the S-PHYRE XC903S shoe also features a midsole with a carbon construction. Shimano's DYNALAST technology, for its part, is designed to improve pedaling efficiency by optimizing foot positioning, thus reducing energy loss. Last but not least: The reinforced upper is made of microfiber synthetic leather, and the wraparound construction is designed to provide additional stability and support.
