Cycling: Wout van Aert won the final stage of the Tour de France in impressive fashion. The Belgian prevailed over Tadej Pogacar on the final crossing of the Côte de la Butte Montmartre. Florian Lipowitz also had cause to celebrate. The German finished the 2025 Tour de France on the podium.

Wout and Aert (Visma – Lease a Bike) won the final stage of the 2025 Tour de France in torrential rain at times, in front of an incredible crowd. After 132,3 kilometers from Mantes-la-Ville to Paris, the Belgian prevailed on the Champs-Élysées. Before the finale, the riders had to complete the Côte de Bazemont, the Côte du Pavé des Gardes, and the Côte de la butte Montmartre three times. However, the difficult finish had no impact on the overall standings, as the time was taken on the fourth finish, 50 kilometers from the finish. There were no further changes to the classification jerseys. Tadej pogacar (UAE – XRG) wins the yellow jersey and the mountains jersey. jonathan milan (Lidl – Trek) takes home the green jersey for the highest points scorer. Visma – Lease a Bike won the team classification.
The Côte de la butte Montmartre enlivens the race
Even fans of the traditional Paris finish must admit that today's finale of the Tour de France was extremely exciting and entertaining. Already at the first crossing of the Côte de la butte Montmartre, the field exploded as Julian Alaphilippe (Tudor) attacked. Tadej pogacar (UAE – XRG) took command on the second crossing and reduced the first group to just six men. As they climbed the Côte de la butte Montmartre for the third and final time, the world champion repeated his attempt. But Wout and Aert (Visma – Lease a Bike) was stronger. The Belgian not only stayed on the Slovenian's wheel, but also went one step further – riding solo to victory on the Champs-Élysées.
Lipowitz finishes the tour on the podium
German cycling is celebrating a success in the overall standings at the 2025 Tour de France that it hasn't seen in almost 20 years. In 2006, Andreas Klöden finished second in the Tour de France. Since then, no professional has made it into the top three – until now. Florian Lipowitz (RB – Bora – hansgrohe) stands next to Tadej pogacar (UAE – XRG) and jonas vingegaard (Visma – Lease a Bike) on the podium in Paris. The 24-year-old from Laichingen is celebrating the greatest success of his career – and he's no one-day event. Just a few weeks ago, he finished third overall at the Critérium du Dauphiné, behind the two best climbers in the world. Lipowitz also won the white jersey as the best young rider. Jan Ullrich recently achieved this feat.
