Thok TP4 : Versatile e-bike for all-mountain and enduro fans

July 3, 2025 by Florian Nowak

Product news: The Thok TP4 e-bike is a technically visionary e-MTB – featuring a carbon frame, 3D prototype technology, versatile flip-chip geometry, Bosch power, and excellently matched components. Its focus on quality, performance, and handcrafted manufacturing makes it the ideal choice for demanding all-mountain and enduro enthusiasts who aren't afraid of either downhill sections or long climbs.

Thok's distinctive, futuristic frame shape can also be found on the new models.

The Thok TP4 is the result of a visionary project: It is the first full-suspension carbon eBike to have a functional prototype created using 3D metal printing (SLM) – a rapid step toward validating geometry, travel, and integration. Since then, the model has been locally developed, assembled, and painted in Italy – handcrafted frame by frame using the autoclave process. Due to popular demand for the successful TP4-R and TP4 limited models, Thok is now offering two new models. TP4 is a cheaper entry-level variant and is available for €5.990. TP4-S Thok follows the path of the “old” TP4-R: The equipment is exactly the same. The new TP4-S costs €6.990, while the TP4-R costs €7.590. The price difference results from the country of manufacture: The frames of the TP4 and TP4-S are manufactured in Taiwan, while the TP4-R is manufactured in Italy. Otherwise, the frames are identical.

The TP4-R Made in Italy model has experienced greater than expected demand, so much so that the entire production capacity for 2025 is already sold out. It is currently possible to pre-order the TP4-R model for 2026 or purchase a TP4-S model with the same components. The TP4-S is available immediately and is offered at a lower price. Of course, we continue to offer the Made in Italy option with the TP4-R, but can currently only do so for a limited number of bikes. To serve the market, we have expanded our portfolio with the TP4-S and TP4.

As with the first models, the new Thok TP4 and TP4-S models utilize modern, unidirectional carbon fibers. The manufacturing technology and know-how from Italy are also incorporated into the new frames from Asia.

Thok TP4 – Motor and Battery

The Thok TP4 comes with a Bosch CX drive (Gen 5) and boasts the latest update to 100 Nm of torque. The package includes, among other features, the new eMTB+ mode and the ability to customize the new modes using the eBike Flow app. Regarding the battery, Thok retains the size configuration option. Customers can choose between 400, 600, and 800 Wh – the 800 Wh battery is standard. The 250 Wh range extender is also available as an additional configuration. Buyers can therefore customize their bike based on the weight and length of their rides.

Thok TP4 – Equipment

In terms of equipment, Thok relies on affordable, reliable components for the TP4. A Shimano Deore brake system and large 203 mm discs ensure reliable deceleration. For the chassis, Thok relies on solid FOX suspension elements: The 36 Float Rhythm suspension fork with 160 mm travel and the Float Rhythm shock with THOK-specific tuning offer balanced performance that is more than sufficient for most riders. In terms of gearing, Thok relies on a mix of Shimano SLX 12-speed rear derailleur combined with a Deore cassette and shift lever. The in-house variable seat post with up to 200 mm travel (sizes L/XL), together with other in-house components such as handlebars, stem, saddle, and wheels, offers well-thought-out and functional equipment. All of this results in a harmonious overall package that covers everyday suitability and trail performance equally.

The flip-chip system allows the frame geometry of the TP4 to be adjusted between a "high" setup (for all-mountain, with steeper angles) and a "low" setup (for more enduro performance with slacker angles).
