Philipsen Vuelta

Cycling: Jasper Philipsen has won the eighth stage of the Vuelta a España. The Belgian thus celebrates his second stage victory in this year's Tour of Spain.

Philipsen enters late and wins

As expected, the 163,5-kilometer stage from Monzón Templario to Zaragoza ended in a mass sprint. Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin – Deceuninck) prevailed over Elia Viviani (Lotto) and Ethan Vernon (Israel – Premier Tech) to claim his second stage victory. The breakaway riders had no chance of winning the stage today. Three Spaniards – Joan Bou (Caja Rural – Seguros RGA), Sergio Samitier (Cofidis), and José Luis Faura (Burgos Burpellet BH) – attempted an attack, but to no avail.
