Entry-level e-MTB with significantly more mountain bike genes: The new Focus Jarifa² 2026

29 October 2025 by Andrew Waldera

Product news: For the 2026 model year, the Focus Jarifa² comes with several new features and a completely new design. Equipped with significantly more mountain bike DNA, this e-MTB is also ideal for beginners who want to try out their first trails. Highlights include the Bosch Performance Line (CX) e-drive system and the high-capacity battery with up to 800 Wh.

The completely redesigned Focus Jarifa² for 2026 is sportier and therefore also appeals to e-MTB beginners. With its riding position, the bike aims to ensure safety for all riders who want to try out their first trails. The geometry, with its slack head and seat tube angles, promises stability at high speeds. All models also come equipped with a 120 mm suspension fork and a dropper seatpost. For steep climbs, Focus has fitted an 11-46 tooth cassette, and for fast descents, a 4-piston brake.

The Jarifa² is available with two Bosch systems. The entry-level 6.7 model, at a budget-friendly price, features a Performance Line motor with 75 Nm of maximum torque. The 6.7 X and 6.8 come with the more powerful Bosch Performance Line CX, which can be boosted to 100 Nm with an upgrade. It's even possible to retrofit a USB-C port. The battery is also available in two versions, meaning all frames, including the XS size, can accommodate batteries with up to 800 Wh, thus meeting individual needs.

For those needing even more battery capacity, the Bosch Range Extender can be retrofitted, adding an extra 250 Wh. For maximum range, sizes M, L, and XL even offer the option of using the Dual Battery System, allowing for a total capacity of up to 1600 Wh. Everyday usability remains a key focus of the bike: the Focus Jarifa² can be easily equipped with a luggage rack and mudguards. The new luggage rack is MIK HD certified and therefore approved for loads of up to 27 kg.
