State-of-the-art radar technology with intelligent lighting functions and networked communication: Sigma RECO radar taillights

Sigma RECO radar taillights

Product news: The new Sigma RECO radar rear lights combine state-of-the-art radar technology with intelligent lighting functions and networked communication. When used with a radar-compatible GPS bike computer, these innovative rear lights become a digital rearview mirror.

With its new, connected RECO radar taillights, Sigma brings a technology to the road that warns cyclists of approaching vehicles early on and simultaneously makes them clearly visible to following traffic. The integrated radar technology of the RECO models detects following traffic within a wide 60° corridor at a distance of up to 140 meters. The system can detect up to eight objects simultaneously in real time. The Sigma RECO radar taillights distinguish between objects approaching at a normal speed and those approaching rapidly. The bright taillight clearly signals to following traffic that a cyclist is ahead. Additional safety features such as brake light and emergency brake light functions increase visibility and help to avoid risky situations. This makes road traffic more predictable for everyone.

A key highlight is the versatile connectivity. When combined with the AURA 100 front light, the radar and front light can be paired via Bluetooth using the popular LINK protocol. This allows the rear light to be conveniently controlled via the front light, and the battery level can be read directly at the front. Using the ANT+ radar profile, the two RECO models can also be connected to the SIGMA ROX 12.1 EVO or ROX 11.1 EVO GPS bike computers, as well as other devices that support the ANT+ radar profile. Cyclists then receive visual and audible warnings as soon as vehicles approach from behind. From spring 2026, SIGMA RIDE app users will also be able to benefit from the safety features of the RECO models. The RIDE app will then also offer the option of receiving audible and visual alerts for approaching vehicles.

The Sigma RECO radar rear light is offered in two versions. The RECO 80 LINK was developed specifically for the German market. This integrated rear light complies with German road traffic regulations (StVZO) and combines maximum brightness with full radar performance. It has a runtime of up to 15 hours. For international markets, the RECO 81 LINK is available – with a total of six lighting modes, including a Peloton mode for glare-free group riding. Regardless of the lighting mode, radar performance and safety functions remain identical. Thanks to various adapters, the RECO models can be flexibly mounted on different seatposts, including round, D-shaped, and aero seatposts. The RECO 80 LINK (Germany) and RECO 81 LINK (international) are available now online and from selected retailers at a suggested retail price of €179,95.
