Clever bags with Fidlock system: Bikepacking bags from Jack Wolfskin

14 December 2025 by Michael Wahl

Founded in Germany in 1981, the Jack Wolfskin brand originated from the idea of developing functional equipment for real outdoor adventures. What began with weatherproof jackets and early backpack models has evolved over the years into one of Europe's largest outdoor manufacturers, boasting a huge range of clothing, shoes, tents, backpacks, and now also bikepacking gear. Sustainability plays a central role: The brand increasingly focuses on recycled materials, fair production, and many of its products—including all those we tested—carry the bluesign® label. We first took a look at the Morobbia bag series back in 2023 (Link), and that's exactly where our current test comes in.

Morobbia Bar Roll

The Morobbia Bar Roll from Jack Wolfskin is a modular handlebar bag consisting of a sturdy mount and a separate pack sack, operating on the classic "harness principle": The mount attaches to the handlebars via two robust straps, the position of which can be adjusted – a detail that stood out particularly positively in testing, as it allows the bag to adapt flexibly to different cockpits. The pack sack, or alternatively a sleeping bag, is then placed in the front compartment and secured with the side compression straps, while the bungee cords on top allow for the secure storage of additional gear such as jackets or gloves. The heart of the system is the Fidlock magnetic closure, which uses a twist-and-click mechanism that proved absolutely convincing in testing: Once correctly closed with a pull, it holds reliably and doesn't open even on rough terrain. However, it does take some getting used to initially to intuitively find the correct pull direction and the locking point. Overall, the Morobbia Bar Roll proved to be a functional, stable handlebar bag that particularly impressed with its variable mounting system and secure Fidlock closure.

Technical data:

  • Dimensions: 43 31 x x 22 cm
  • Weight: 570g
  • Packing volume: 15 l

Morobbia Triangle Bag

The Morobbia Triangle Bag is a compact frame bag that fits perfectly into the upper triangle of the frame and doesn't interfere with pedaling – perfect for tools, snacks, or small items on rides. Made from durable CROSS RIP 70D fabric, it has a pleasantly soft feel and sits comfortably against the frame thanks to its padded top and back; reflective elements further enhance visibility. The two zippers, allowing access from both sides, and the soft Velcro straps, which can be easily wrapped twice around the frame without needing to be cut, are particularly practical. Overall, the bag makes a very well-designed impression: soft to the touch, securely attached, and incredibly practical for everyday use or touring. One minor drawback: the bag isn't 100% waterproof.

Technical data:

  • Dimensions: 21 27 x x 6 cm
  • Weight: 90g
  • Packing volume: 15 l

Morobbia Seat Bag

With its well-thought-out design and robust, weather-resistant materials, the Morobbia Seat Bag impresses, offering reliable protection even in light rain. The plastic base ensures the bag remains stable, retains its shape, and protects the contents from dirt and spray from the rear wheel – a real plus on any tour. The bag attaches classically with a large Velcro strap around the seatpost and two small straps on the saddle rails; we particularly like the buckle mechanism. The Fidlock system works just as reliably as on the handlebar bag we tested previously: the bag sits firmly on the saddle, doesn't wobble, and remains stable in place while riding. The contents can be compressed effectively, even without a special compression valve. Overall, the Morobbia Seat Bag impresses with its practical handling thanks to the Fidlock and harness systems and is a very reliable choice for bikepacking and longer tours.

Technical data:

  • Dimensions: 52 x 23 x 18 cm
