The cross-country elite have already kicked off the new World Cup season – and are celebrating a premiere at the same time: For the first time, the XCO series is making a stop in Asia. UCI Cross-Country World Cup 2026 in YongPyong – Dates and Schedule
The first race of the season marks the start of the hunt for World Cup points for the world's best cross-country athletes. The event in YongPyong marks a historic moment for the discipline, which is making its debut on Asian soil. While the short track races were completed today – the results are below – the classic cross-country races will take place on Sunday morning (May 3, 2026) German time. Here are the start times:

Short Track Results Overview
The first decisions in YongPyong have already been made. In the Elite Short Track race, Frenchman Mathis Azzaro took the lead. German David List achieved a strong fourth place, just 5 seconds behind. The second-best German was Maximilian Brandl in 15th place.
Swiss athlete Sina Frei secured the victory in the women's competition. The best German performances came from Kira Böhm, Nina Graf, and Ronja Eibl, who finished in 10th to 12th place.
