Cube MTB Model Innovations 2027: Several changes await riders in Cube's non-electric MTB range. Besides the revival of the Fritzz freeride bike and a new frame for the Two15 downhill bike, the Stereo platform is being revamped. The Waldershof-based company is doing away with the division into different suspension travel categories and transforming the Cube Stereo into a trail all-rounder with 145 mm of rear travel and 150 mm up front. Cube Stereo: Frame platform reduced to the essentials
While the outgoing Stereo was offered in four different travel categories (120, 140, 150 & 170 mm), the new Stereo full-suspension bike will only be available in one travel category: 145 mm at the rear and 150 mm at the front are the new gold standard and should be well suited for All-round character of the mountain bike. It's noticeable that the shock absorber is no longer positioned upright in the frame. Instead, it lies down. horizontal damper and directs its forces into the top tube. The new Cube Stereo rolls exclusively on this top tube. 29 inch wheels – with the exception of the smaller frame sizes, where 27,5 inches is still relevant. The Stereo models range in price from 1.999 and 5.499 euros.

The shock's positioning isn't the only aspect Cube has revised on the new Stereo. The frame storage compartment has an improved lid, offering more space for snacks and gear inside the downtube and featuring a more ergonomic lever. The cable routing has also been updated. The cables run through the headset as standard; those who prefer not to can route them conventionally through openings in the frame. Some of these cables are routed tube-in-tube within the downtube. Like many other bikes, the Stereo also features a recessed pair of threaded inserts on the top tube for mounting accessories such as a head unit.
Who is the new Cube Stereo intended for?
To appeal to different types of riders despite the Stereo platform's reduction to the essentials, Cube's product managers focused on a diverse product range. Equipment variants like the TM and especially the Super TM come with highly downhill-oriented components . The downhill-patterned rear tire casing is particularly striking; in addition, a stiff RockShox Zeb fork is fitted. This transforms the Stereo into a mini-enduro bike and should appeal especially to riders who are particularly fast and aggressive on descents.
Cube also offers all-rounder options: The entry-level models, in particular, maintain a good balance between smooth rolling and trail capability . As usual, both HPC models with aluminum rear triangles and C:62 bikes with full carbon frames are available. The C:62 SLT is a true "Alpine crossing" spec: This top-of-the-line model, priced at just under €5.500, weighs in at a mere 13,6 kg according to the manufacturer, thanks to a sensible selection of lightweight components, yet it doesn't compromise on trail performance. VG system with Newmen: Adjustable handlebar width
While not exclusively tied to the new Cube Stereo models, the introduction of the so-called VG system on many Cube mountain bikes is definitely worth mentioning. Together with Newmen, the Waldershof-based company has developed a handlebar with adjustable width . Threaded inserts in the handlebar ends allow the grips to be moved inwards or outwards in 5mm increments. So, if you want to shorten your handlebars, you no longer need a saw or pipe cutter – and, most importantly, the changes are reversible . We think: Variable handlebar widths are a big step forward in terms of ergonomics and ensure that Cube bikes can be properly adjusted to their riders.
