Best list of touring backpacks 2024
What makes a good touring backpack? Owning a good backpack is worth its weight in gold. Because the backpack is the most universal and effective way to transport your luggage on the bike or on foot.
There is no question that bikepacking products have become more and more sophisticated in recent years, but they are not suitable for every purpose. Backpacks, on the other hand, are true all-rounders. However, they also have their downsides, which can, for example, cause tense and sweaty backs. This makes it even more important to invest in a good backpack.
But what makes a good backpack? Clearly, first and foremost it has to be comfortable to wear and offer enough space for luggage. At the same time, such an investment must be long-lasting. But the handling also has to be right, nobody likes to spend a long time searching inside the backpack. For this reason, it is advisable to choose a backpack with the appropriate layout that suits your personal needs. The same applies to the storage space. Features such as hydration bladder compartments, helmet holders or rain covers are further specific criteria that you should think about in advance. If you spend a lot of time in traffic, you should also make sure that a backpack is equipped with reflectors.
In our series of tests we will examine all of these criteria and show the advantages and disadvantages of each backpack. We didn't limit ourselves to a special storage space in order to show the basic possibilities of individual backpack sizes. We hope to be able to support you with our list of the best to find your ideal solution.
