Vuelta a Espana - All news

The Vuelta a España is the third and final Grand Tour of a season in the cycling calendar. Since its founding in 1935, the Vuelta has had many well-known professionals enter the winners' list. The three-week tour consists largely of mountain and hill stages, which is why lighter riders in particular feel comfortable here. In addition, the Vuelta is often used as preparation and form building for the World Championships. Even riders who fell during the Tour de France and were therefore no longer able to continue then usually prepare for the Tour of Spain. The race has mostly taken place in August and September for several years. The Vuelta takes riders through Spain's stunning landscape, from the rugged mountains of the Pyrenees to the sun-drenched coasts of the Mediterranean. The Vuelta a España offers a demanding route with numerous challenges, especially steep climbs and thrilling descents. The history of the Vuelta a España has been shaped by some cycling legends. Names like Alberto Contador, Miguel Indurain, Chris Froome and Roberto Heras have entered the annals of cycling here. Jan Ullrich has also already won the Tour of Spain. On Velomotion, readers don't miss any Vuelta a España results. We report on all Vuelta stages, predict the possible winners and introduce all riders and teams in detail. Some top-class athletes will be there again this cycling season. The German team Bora – hansgrohe will also be able to send a top team to the start.
