Tour de France - All news

The Tour de France, often known simply as the Tour, is the most famous and important cycling race in the world. Since its founding in 1903, the Tour of France has written many stories. The Tour de France spans three weeks and takes riders through France's picturesque countryside, from the Alps to the Pyrenees to the Champs-Élysées in Paris. Each tour stage presents its own challenges, be it in the form of demanding mountain sections, windy flat stages or technically difficult time trials. Over the years, many legends have emerged, from Eddy Merckx to German heroes like Jan Ullrich and Erik Zabek, as well as current superstars like Tadej Pogacar, Primoz Roglic and Jonas Vingegaard. The list of Tour winners is peppered with names like Jacques Anquetil, Bernard Hinault, Miguel Indurain and Chris Froome. The 90s caused a real cycling boom in Germany, in which the Telekom team around Jan Ullrich and Erik Zabel achieved numerous successes. In recent years, the German racing team Bora – hansgrohe in particular has achieved success. But sprinters like Marcel Kittel and André Greipel have also boosted the popularity of the Tour de France. The focus is currently on international professionals such as Primoz Roglic, Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard. With Nils Politt, Phil Bauhaus, Lennard Kämna, Pascal Ackermann, John Degenkolb and Emanuel Buchmann, there are still numerous top drivers from Germany who also know how to impress on the Tour of France. The Tour de France is not only a cycling event, but also a cultural phenomenon that delights millions of spectators. With its history, tradition and unparalleled charm, the Tour will continue to capture the hearts of cycling fans around the world.
